Description
Active Ingredient: Spirodiclofen 240g/litre
SIYAPPA 240SC Siyappa is a broad spectrum insecticide/miticide/acaricide with a unique mode of action and is used in the control of spider mites.
Formulation
Soluble Concentrate
Mode of Action
- Has contact mode of action. Affects insects by interfering with their growth and development process.
- Acts by inhibiting the biosynthesis of fats required for growth and development leading to formation of incomplete molts and desiccation of an insect (drying out by extracting moisture)
- This occurs as spirodiclofen inhibits enzyme Acetyl-CoA Carboxylase; an enzyme that catalyses the first step in fatty acids synthesis and is important in membrane synthesis.
- Spirodiclofen is active on all insect stages from the eggs, larval, nymphal to adult females (male adults no affected.)
- Best in the control of Mites especially in their early stages of development i.e.: Egg hatching to larval stages
Rate of Use: 10ml/20lr or 0.5ltr/Ha
Application Guide
- Apply in the early stages of pest development as young larval stages are more susceptible to spirodiclofen
- Incorporate in IPM(Intergrated Pest Management) or Resistance management.
- Avoid spraying product during flowering when beneficial insects are actively foraging. Toxic to bees
- Apply in cool weather and avoid drift-offs to minimise effect on beneficial insects.
- Ensure thorough product coverage due to contact action i.e:Cover all leaf surfaces for longer efficacy
- Alternate with other products to manage resistance development
- Apply once per season
Features & Benefits
- Has a unique mode of action hence low chances of resistance development when used correctly and alternated with other products
- Adheres to plant cuticle hance not easily washed with rainfall
- Is All-Weather i.e.: Not affected by extreme weather i.e.: rain or temperature
- Residual action of up to 6 weeks offering long-lasting protection.
- Acts on all insect stages of mites
- Broad-Spectrum, Can be used to control a wide range of insects.
- Good for use in IPM and Managing product resistance
